Admission Process / Criteria at ARA CCI
ARA CCI provides shelter only to girls.
Age criteria for admission is preferably 7 to 15 years of age.
Children in Need of Care and Protection (CNCP) as per JJ Act-2016 are admitted, with priority given to orphan children.
Children and their families, if any, need to reside in Ranga Reddy District.
Child Welfare Committee of Ranga Reddy District refers children to us after scrutinizing their economic background.
Children approaching us directly must obtain permission from the Child Welfare Committee of Ranga Reddy District.
Definitions (As per JJ Act, 2015 & Model Rules, 2016)
a) "Child" (Sec. 2/12)
A person who has not completed eighteen years of age.
b) "Child in Need of Care and Protection" (Sec. 2/14)
Means a child who:
Is found without any home or settled place of abode and without any ostensible means of subsistence.
Is found working in contravention of labour laws or found begging, or living on the street.
Resides with a person who has injured, exploited, abused, or neglected the child.
Has a parent or guardian deemed unfit to care for the child.
Is missing or a runaway child, or whose parents cannot be found.
Has been or is likely to be abused or exploited for illegal acts.
Is vulnerable to being inducted into drug abuse or trafficking.
Is a victim or affected by armed conflict, civil unrest, or natural calamity.
Is at imminent risk of marriage before attaining the legal age of marriage.
c) "Orphan" (Sec. 2/42)
Means a child who:
Is without biological or adoptive parents or a legal guardian.
Has a legal guardian who is unwilling or incapable of taking care of the child.
